NEWS AND EVENTS

Dear PECDA Brethren and Supporters

We owe everything we have done and what we are doing to you for your support is what has brought us this far.  We are aware spiritually and otherwise that your support has been two-fold, through prayer support and financial support.  That is why you are very close to our hearts, for that Christian believers’ fellowship between us keeps us energized to move on in God’s work among the poor and jobless single mothers and their children.

Your support financially has helped a few children to attend school, HIV/AIDS victims have accessed treatment and drugs. You have paid rent and food to the 55 poor single mothers and their children for some time.  You brought them hope to see the next day.  Even when you could not send funds they kept hoping you would not forget them.

Your support spiritually has helped 11 single parents become members of four different churches in their villages while many of the 263 children attend Sunday school every Sunday.  Our partnership with you in PECDA work has born tangible fruit.

The main concern is that whatever good we have done for these families is not self-sustaining, for if we pulled out today, they could drift back to the state we found them.  This sad situation is what brings the need for the TAILORING PROJECT.

The objective is to empower these mothers with work oriented skills that can help them turn their economic plight around to generate income that can help them meet their basic needs without ongoing outside financial help.  This is the similar approach we are taking in giving them the Word of God - that they can truly know Him and experience His love and power to save them from their sins leading to eternal life.  This is the wholistic PECDA Ministry that we are asking our Heavenly Father to grant resources through you and others for the glory of His Kingdom.

TAILORING PROJECT STATE OF AFFAIRS

  1. We have completed marketing research.  There is more than ample need for school uniforms in the Naivasha system of schools.
  2. We have already acquired a training venue with rent paid up to the end of February, 2009.
  3. You have helped us to purchase four sewing machines.
  4.  I have already interviewed a Tailoring Instructor who is ready to join us as soon as we have funds to pay his salary.
  5. We need US $20,000 which could be provided in bits to purchase another 20 sewing machines, learning materials and purchase of uniform materials to serve as an initial investment capital including 6-9 months of training and small daily stipend for trainees.

We will appreciate your identifying with us through prayers and financial support in whatever small way as God may lead you.

Yours brother in Christ,

James N. Githukah
