Dear PECDA Brethren and Supporters
PECDA-KENYA has made a significant impact amongst it's target families
in areas of feeding, rent payments, community education on general
hygiene, water and sanitation and HIV/AIDS awareness campaigns.
Teaching our target families the word of
God and changing their attitudes towards God and themselves is PECDA's
priority area of work, for God hears, listens and answers all those
who seek Him in truth and spirit.
PARENTING EDUCATION
PROGRAM focuses
on the wellbeing of the263 children from 55 target families. We
have only been able to do very little in this area due to financial
constraints. But with support both financially and spiritually from
our God appointed brothers and sisters from FUMC Dunnellon in Florida,
10 secondary school students will finish their secondary education
.6 primary school kids will join secondary education soon. 13 kids
enjoy life at the PECDA Child Development Centre. This is a PECDA's
program that takes care of kids hence they are happy to have a home.
SUSTAINABLE LIVELIHOOD
PROGRAM The above PECDA's involvement with communities
can only be termed as emergency or short-term since their funding
come from a source that willone day dry.Through our Sustainable
livelihood program, we have changed our approach by turning target
mothers into skilled and productive parents. Parents must be responsible
of their own lives for the benefit of the children they bring into
this world. FUMC Dunnellon sisters and brothers including others
can only identify with the poorest of the poor only for a time.
This understanding has given birth to the
Tailoring Project that aims to train 30-35 mothers to acquire tailoring
skills to help set up a productive unit for making school uniforms
for all schools around Naivasha town.
This project is a baby of FUMC Dunnellon
for in september 2009 thay enabled the launching of the project
and we are grateful that it is now functional. This project will
change the face of PECDA-KENYA from a Welfare Organisation to a
Social/Economic empowerment Organisation.

We hope that our sisters and brothers at
FUMC Dunnellon will continue to support us in changing these families
both economically and spiritually for the grory of God
THANK YOU FOR THE CONTINUED SUPPORT FUMC
