PECDA operates in 2 villages - MANERA AND KIHOTO, just outside Naivasha town. Kihoto is a slum village with more than 500 families with one large public school. FUMC CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE is situated right in the centre of the village.

The living conditions are pathetic with target families virtually having nothing you could call furniture or utensils. The families are large, making their conditions very desperate. Most families have between 3 and 8 children per family. In this village PECDA works with 38 single mother families.

It's always a joy to have beautiful babies coming to this world and we are all excited. But the question that keep coming to me is: Who was responsible? When will some men learn to be men both at night and during the day?

________________________________________________________________

We only know they were there during the night as we see the babies. Why are our laws silent about these beastly behaved men? For how long?

These un-noticed night visits cause all the social evils that work to wipe out a single mother's family from the face of the Earth.

Stella cannot care for her child because she will soon die of HIV AIDS and her 2 year old son will be an orphan from that age onwards.
