PECDA is a non-profit, non
denominational, Christian Organization that provide Christian-based parenting
skills and to support the development of children from poor families in
order to help them realize their potential.
PECDA presently operates in two villages - Manera and Kihoto, just
outside Naivasha town. Kihoto is a slum village with more than 500
families with one large public school.FUMC CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTRE is
situated right in the centre of the village. In this village PECDA works with 38 single mother families while in
Manera village we work with 17 single mother families.
Living conditions are pathetic with target families virtually
having nothing you could call furniture or utensils. The families are
large, making their conditions very desperate. Most families have
between 3 and 8 children per family.
VISION
Children from poor families and especially from single mothers have opportunity to go to school, are in good health and are realizing their full potential to participate in social / economic development of their country.
MISSION:
PECDA works to empower poor families especially single mothers through training, counseling, community education and awareness creation
hence process of imparting new skills, knowledge and expertise and experience sharing in different skill areas to help overcome their disadvantaged position and poverty.
FOCUS:
PECDA-Kenya is focused on the holistic development of the poor child and her/his family through embracing Christian living and academic education in the process of realizing their potential to participate in their county's development.
